The National Competitiveness Commission [NCC] is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament [Chapter 14:36] and falls under the purview of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC). The Commission is mandated to facilitate the creation of a competitive environment for Zimbabwean businesses through the development, coordination, and implementation of key policy improvements required for domestic, regional, and global competitiveness. The Commission seeks to consider mature and suitably qualified candidate for the following ‘Permanent Contract’ position to be based in Harare offices.
Driver/Messenger
Reports To: Human Resources & Administration
Key Duties
- Safely transport staff, officials and authorized visitors as assigned.
- Deliver and collect official mail, documents and parcels to a from various offices and institutions.
- Ensure assigned vehicle is always clean, roadworthy, and in good mechanical condition.
- Conduct routine checks on oil, water, brakes and fuel on all Commission vehicles as per schedule given by Administration.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and delivery records.
- Observe all traffic laws and NCC transport policies at all times.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all documents and items in transit.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes
- At least 5 O’ Levels passes including English Language
- A valid class 1 Driver’s Licence.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a driver and or messenger.
- Defensive driving certificate a must
- Good knowledge of Zimbabwean roads and routes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
